Granary Residence Interior Design

The exterior of the home, with its modern beige and black tones, served as a key influence in extending this theme throughout the interior. Our objective was to ensure a seamless flow between the exterior and interior, resulting in a space that felt cohesive, sophisticated, and timeless.

This custom home project was driven by the client's desire to create a bold, modern space that would immediately capture attention. From our initial discussions, it became clear that a monochromatic palette would be the ideal choice to bring this vision to life.

To avoid the potential monotony of a monochromatic scheme, we strategically introduced a variety of textures and finishes. By combining veined porcelain slabs with cabinetry and wall treatments in the same color family, we created a dynamic interplay of surfaces that added depth and visual interest.

Challenges

In this project, luxury is defined by the meticulous attention to detail and the thoughtful integration of materials. One of the standout features is the extensive use of paneling, which not only adds texture and depth to the walls but also creates a sense of continuity throughout the home. In spaces with double-height ceilings, we incorporated ribbed detailing, accentuated by cove lighting, to emphasize architectural features and enhance the overall ambiance. Brass accents were selectively introduced, particularly in the kitchen, where they add warmth and richness to the monochromatic backdrop without overwhelming the design.

Interior Design

The flooring choice was another critical element in achieving the luxurious aesthetic. We opted for herringbone flooring with brass inlay, a detail that adds both visual interest and a sense of modern sophistication. This intricate flooring design complements the overall scheme while creating a striking effect that draws the eye and defines the space. Dark semi-gloss accents around entryways further contribute to the polished, refined look, contrasting beautifully with the matte surfaces and highlighting key architectural features. Throughout the project, one of the key challenges was maintaining a cohesive look and feel across different rooms while working with a single color palette. We addressed this by carefully considering the layout and design of each space, using thresholds and varying textures to subtly differentiate areas without breaking the overall harmony. This approach allowed us to create a seamless flow between rooms while ensuring that each space retained its own distinct character.
